Our Story

Benjamin Masesane, founder of Life and Figures, began by posting detailed WhatsApp statuses that demystified complex economic issues. He soon realized that these fleeting updates weren’t enough—readers needed a permanent, searchable resource. That insight sparked the creation of Life and Figures, an economics commentary blog designed to help individuals see exactly how economic forces affect their daily lives. When Benjamin shared his vision with fellow economists Gustav Fourie and Thulani Zulu, they immediately signed on, each committing to contribute articles that bridge economic theory and real-world practice.
